With RemoteSafe, your daily data backup is fully automated. Every day your data will be stored safely in a secure offsite location from where you can access your data backup 24-hours a day, 7 days per week.

How it works...

Once you have downloaded the RemoteSafe client software, you can create a backup set which is a group of files and/or folders that you wish to backup. You can then set the schedule for the backup. The first backup and upload process can potentially take several hours or even days, depending on the amount of data you are backing up. The RemoteSafe server encrypts all of your data so that it is only accessible to you alone. Once the initial backup is complete, daily 'incremental' backups are performed which will upload modified files in your backup set as well as adding new ones. After each backup you'll receive an e-mail notification with a detailed report of your backup. If the RemoteSafe servers didn't receive your scheduled backup you'll be notified by email too!
When you need to restore your data, simply open the client and perform the restore. It really is that simple!

What you need to run RemoteSafe...

• An internet connection (preferrably broadband)

• 30 MB of free disk space

• Minimum of 120 MB memory

The RemoteSafe client software...

• Easy web interface.
• Backup schemes can be amended upon request.
• All data is encrypted and compressed automatically before contact is made with the server.
• The server only contains encrypted files. This data cannot be accessed by third parties.
• Only amendments or new files are transferred to the server as a result of using incremental backups.
• MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases (from 8i upwards) are supported (hot backup).
• MS Exchange server and Lotus Notes are supported (hot backup).
• You can access and use your backup data at any time and from anywhere through a standard internet browser.
• You will receive backup reports stating all files for which copies have been received. You will receive such a report by email after each backup.
• All backup data is checked and validated before being stored by means of CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check).
• Even deleted files can be repaired and you can choose from different earlier versions.
• You can easily select files for backup by indicating the type of file for which you would like to make a backup, such as *.doc or *.xls.
• RemoteSafe can be used with Windows, MAC OS X, Linux as well as several other platforms, such as Sun Solaris and Novell Netware.
• Thanks to Live Update your software will always be up to date.
• You will receive daily reports concerning backup status, file sizes as well as an overview of all activities that have taken place within the last 24 hours.
